Secchiero and Gautier win Lake Kaltern triathlon

After 1,5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running, Secchiero narrowly beat Gianluca Pozzatti (1:52.46,90 hours) and Tamas Toth (1:52.52,70) with a time of 1:53.01,40 hours. Daniel Hofer, who won the Lake Kaltern Triathlon in 2011, was flirting with a podium finish before the competition, but in the end he had to settle for ninth place. Jakob Sosniok from LC Bozen also made it into the top 10 in 10th place.

Among the women, Mathilde Gautier, a favorite, did justice to her role. The Frenchwoman held her own against second-placed Annamaria Mazzetti with a respectable lead of almost four minutes. Margie Santimaria came third. The South Tyrolean hope, Lisa Schanung from Brixen, finished the competition in seventh place.

Secchiero and Gautier win Lake Kaltern triathlon

Over 600 athletes took part in the 29th edition of the Lake Kaltern Triathlon on Saturday. The victories went to Andrea Secchiero for the men and Mathilde Gautier for the women.
