Verena Steinhauser narrowly missed the top 10

South Tyrol's triathlon ace Verena Steinhauser narrowly missed the top 10 at the World Triathlon Championship in Cagliari.

The 28-year-old from Brixen landed on Saturday after 1,5 km of swimming, 38 km of cycling and 10 km of running as the best Azzurra in 1th place with a time of 49.02:11 hours.

In order to qualify directly for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Steinhauser needs 2 top 8 results this year. However, after 3 of a total of 7 World Triathlon Championship stages, she is still waiting for her first top 10 placement in this year's World Cup season.

The British Georgia Taylor-Brown took victory on Saturday in 1:46.43 hours ahead of the French Emma Lombardi (1:47.06) and the American Tayler Pivey (1:47.36). The 4th Triathlon World Cup stage will take place on the 24th and 25th in Montreal, Canada.
