Bolzano's young talent triumphs at the national swimming championships

The VSS/Raiffeisen State Swimming Championships were held for the 47th time this year. VSS speaker Klaus Fissneider was able to welcome more than 240 swimmers from all parts of the country to the Merano Lido.

The most successful swimmers once again came from SSV Bozen. They won 23 of 38 possible individual national championship titles, plus four triumphs in a total of six relay decisions. In the end, the people of Bolzano scored an outstanding 397 points and were around 140 points ahead of the second-placed swimmers from SC Meran. The athletes from Bressanone Nuoto secured third place with 159 points.

Seven swimmers were able to celebrate two VSS/Raiffeisen individual national championship titles in Merano. Mia Moldovan (children's category), Arianna Tava and Fabio Splendore (both student A), Annie Didanovic and Tobias Springeth (both youth) were all double successful for SSV Bozen. Dena Bacher from Bressanone Nuoto (Student B) and Sonja Profaizer from SC Meran won two gold medals in the general category. In the relay competitions there were four day victories for SSV Bozen and one victory each for SC Meran and SSV Bruneck.
