The swim meeting attracts the next high-caliber athletes

Erika Ferraioli has been one of the fastest swimmers in Italy for many years. The freestyle specialist is also an integral part of the Italian relay teams over 50 and 100 m (on these distances she also holds the Italian short course records of 24,09 and 52,70). At the World Cup in Kazan she reached the final with three Italian relay teams. At the last Short Course World Championships in Doha in December 2014, she won two bronze medals with Italy (women's 4 x 100 m freestyle and 4 x 50 m individual medley) and last year she also won the 4 x 100 title at the European Long Course Championships in Berlin m freestyle with the Italian mixed relay team.

Last year in Doha, Silvia Di Pietro was also in the World Cup bronze relay. She has also been one of the top in Italy for years, holding the national records in the 50 m freestyle (24,84) and 50 m dolphin (25,78) on the long course and the 50 m dolphin (25,38) in the 25 m pool . Di Pietro was already vice-European champion with Italy's freestyle relay in Debrecen in 2012 and has also won two relay medals at the European Short Course Championships.

Delfin specialist Piero Codia's greatest international success was winning the European title with the medley relay at the European Long Course Championships three years ago in Debrecen. Codia, who turns 22 on October 26nd, also won gold with Italy in the 4 x 50 m individual medley at the 2013 European Short Course Championships in Herning.

Wildeboer is also coming

For the second time since 2012, the Spaniard Aschwin Wildeboer Faber will be seen in Bolzano. The backstroke swimmer's great successes date back a few years. He was vice world champion in Rome in 2009 over 100 m backstroke and also has two short course European titles (2008 over 200 m, 2011 over 50 m) in his list of successes. Wildeboer has set a world record in the 100 m backstroke twice in his career. At the end of 2008 on the short course (49,20) and in the summer of 2009 at the Mediterranean Games in Pescara in 52,38 on the long course. After a break of more than two years from competition, he is now trying to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio.

Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace will also be seen in Bolzano for the second time since 2013. The sprint specialist from the Bahamas won the Panamanian Games this year in the 50 m freestyle in 24,38 seconds and came sixth in the World Cup final in the freestyle sprint in 24,44. Thomas Laxton, however, is registered in Bolzano for the first time. The Valais native missed the semi-finals of the 100 m dolphin World Cup in August by just 0,08 seconds.
