Euregio Swim Cup: A new highlight for local swimmers

The organizers - the Brixen swimming club, the team from Rovereto with the Amicinuoto Riva and the Tyrolean water sports club - have created a network of three already well-established swimming meetings, which will conclude with final overall rankings (individual pentathlon and team rankings) at the last stage in Rovereto becomes.

The three events are the Innsbruck Swim Meeting on May 13th and 14th, the Brixen Swim Meeting on May 20th and 21st and the Rovereto Swim Meeting on May 9th and 10th. and June 11th. The initiative aims to build cultural bridges beyond the purely sporting connection and in this sense is welcomed and supported not only by the state swimming associations, but also by the European Region of Tyrol, the Office of Sport and the VSS.

That is the idea behind the Euregio Swim Cup The Euregio Swim Cups initiative originally arose from the desire to give the international swimming meeting in Brixen – known as the “Acquarena Cup” until 2022 – a certain added value and to create a connection to other venues that are similar to its own objectives and to build bridges and create connections beyond the purely sporting.

In Rovereto and Innsbruck, the initiators from the Brixen Swimming Club immediately found open ears and a lot of enthusiasm for the idea, even though the two swimming events, like Brixen, have been fully booked for years and are very well established.

The objective of the organizing clubs, the Tyrolean water sports club, the Brixen swimming club and the Trentino clubs 2001 Team, Leno 2001 and Amici Nuoto Riva, is on the same wavelength from a sporting perspective: young and young people are offered the opportunity to develop themselves within a well-organized framework to measure more attractive swimming meets and put the Olympic idea, fairness and honest ambition in the foreground.

The concrete connection between the three sporting events takes place on the one hand through the final rankings and awards, which will take place over all three stages and will conclude on the second day of the meeting in Rovereto, on the evening of June 10th, and on the other hand through the conscious promotion of Participation in all three stages (priority registrations, preferential participation fees).
