“I have to admit that I recently followed Benedetta Pilato at the European Swimming Championships in Budapest. Really impressive,” says Fissneider. The 16-year-old Italian won gold in the 50 m breaststroke and even set a world record of 29,30 seconds in the semifinals. “I watched their performances on YouTube, which fascinated and interested me.”

But “Fiss” certainly doesn’t regret her decision to quit competitive sports in 2018 more than three years later. "On the contrary. It was an intense time with ups and downs. I'm mainly thinking about my injuries. But I learned a lot from it and concluded this chapter. I don't even think about my active swimming time anymore. I have long since found my inner balance.” New life Today Fissneider works in an office in Neumarkt and lives partly with her partner in Nals and partly with her parents in Kaltern. “I'm doing well, I have nice work colleagues, enough free time for my hobbies and I get along very well with my partner. I would say everything was perfect,” says the now 26-year-old.

Even Corona hasn't affected Fissneider's inner peace: “I want to be honest and can say that the situation, like everyone else, wasn't ideal. But I was always able to work and move around. Me and my parents were and are doing well. That’s the main thing and now the situation is much more pleasant.”

Lisa will always remain loyal to sport. “It probably has to do with genes. I'm always happy when I can go for a swim in Lake Kaltern. I also like to ride my racing bike and go hiking. My friend set up a fitness room in the basement, which I also go to from time to time,” reports the young woman.

Lisa values her life and takes time for herself and her loved ones: “That’s how it is. Sport gave me a lot, but I also had to give up a lot during that time. Today I like going out with friends, I'm looking forward to doing sports and I'm already longing for a vacation. We haven’t decided yet whether we’ll go to Tuscany or the island of Elba.” Personal Lisa Fissneider was born on October 1, 1994. The breaststroke swimmer's greatest successes: two golds and one silver at the Junior World Championships in 2011. Relay bronze at the European Short Course Championships (with Laura Letrari) in 2010, 13-time Italian champion (in 2009 when she was only 15). Lisa also cut and still cuts a good figure as a model and today has more than 3300 subscribers on Instagram.

Lisa Fissneider enjoyed great success as a competitive swimmer at a young age. In 2011, at the age of 16, she won two golds and one silver at the Junior World Championships in Lima. At the age of 23, she ended her career early.
