Italy's swimming elite is coming to Bolzano in November

Bolzano has made a name for itself over all these years, not only on a national level but also worldwide. For many Azzurri, the meeting in Bolzano on the first weekend in November is the first opportunity to swim into the spotlight of the new season. A season filled with numerous highlights. After all, there are two world championships coming up. The short course world championships from December 11th to 16th in Hangzhou in China and the long course world championships seven months later in July 2019 in Gwangju in southern Croatia.

The South Tyrol swim meeting is a first test for Italy's top athletes. Fabio Scozzoli has a very special relationship with Bolzano. He feels at home here and has been on the winners list 15 times in his career. Scozzoli may be 30 years old, but he was faster than ever last season. At the European Championships in Glasgow in August he was only beaten by His Majesty Adam Peaty in the 50 m breaststroke in 26,79 seconds and only narrowly missed his Italian record from April (26,73).

Laura Letrari is South Tyrol's star For Laura Letrari, the South Tyrol Swim Meeting has been an integral part of her competition program for years. Last year she won the 100 m individual medley at the Pfarrhof, marking her sixth victory in total. This year she also wants to be on the podium in front of her family, many friends and acquaintances. The 29-year-old from Brixen is highly motivated, started training again at the beginning of September and is coming to Bolzano after several weeks of training in Linz and a training camp in Turkey.

The two people from Bolzano, Zaccaria Casna (swimming for Circolo Nuoto UISP Bologna in his third year) and Stefano Ballo (he is competing for Amici Nuoto VVFF Modena) also want to be there at the rectory.
