Swimming elite meets in Brixen

After the successful first edition in 2017, the organizing committee is expecting a good 2 athletes from Italy, Germany and Austria as well as some international swimming stars to take part in the Acquarena outdoor pool on June 3nd and 2018rd, 600.

The mayor of Brixen, Peter Brunner, sports councilor Andreas Jungmann and ex-sports councilor Paula Bacher praised the work of the organizing committee (Brixen Swimming Club, Stadtwerke AG, Sport Village Events Pesaro), which had already succeeded in making Brixen known throughout Italy as a swimming destination last year which not only revitalizes the swimming pool but the entire city with the two-day event.

The Acquarena Cup, as part of a five-part competition series, the Circuito Nuoto Italia 2018 with Imola, Brixen, Pavia, Pesaro, Treviso - is seen as a festival of sport, where young up-and-coming athletes meet top stars and the audience also gets excited with a varied program costs come.

The fact that a group of the Italian national team is staying in the city for a training camp after the competition days proves that Brixen and its swimming pool are becoming increasingly popular in swimming circles. Luca Dotto, European champion, and Nicolò Martinenghi, junior world champion, are just two of the group who will prepare for the upcoming competitions with their coach Claudio Rossetto in the Brixen outdoor pool.
