Cagnotto and Co. are aiming high at the European Championships in Rostock

The European diving championships will take place in the Hanseatic city on the Baltic Sea from June 9th to 14th. The “Azzurri” squad also includes two South Tyroleans, Tania Cagnotto and Maicol Verzotto. The selection is completed by Francesca Dallapè, Noemi Batki, Elena Bertocchi, Michele Benedetti, Tommaso Rinaldi, Francesco Dell'Uomo, Andrea Chiarabini and Giovanni Tocci.

Tania Cagnotto is taking part in the European Championships in Rostock for the 12th time. So far, the Bolzano native has won a total of 22 medals (14 gold, four silver and four bronze) in the continental championships. Next week she has her sights set on her European Championship medals 23 to 25. Cagnotto competes on the 1m and 3m boards and, together with Francesca Dallapè from Trentino, is aiming for the seventh title in a row in synchronized jumping on the 3m board. The 30-year-old will be in action on Friday, June 12th (1m board), Saturday, June 13th (synchronized jumping 3m board) and Sunday, June 14th (3m board). .

The second diver from Bolzano who will try his luck in Berlin is Maicol Verzotto. On Saturday, June 13th, he will compete in the individual diving from the tower, before he will tackle the synchronized diving, also from the tower, together with Francesco Dell'Uomo a day later. This is the eighth European Championship participation for the man from Talferstadt. His best result is a fourth place in the synchronized jumping from the tower with Dell'Uomo, which the two “Azzurri” achieved two years ago in Rostock. This year they want to get involved in the fight for the bronze medal.

Cagnotto and Co. are aiming high at the European Championships in Rostock
