Giorgio Cagnotto: “Bolzano remains the city of divers”

The 23rd edition of the Grand Prix will take place in the state capital from next Wednesday to Friday. They are special competitions because they are the last ones before the World Cup in Budapest. On Monday, the details of the major event were presented at a press conference at the Thuniversum in Bolzano.

"I've been looking forward to the Grand Prix for weeks. It's something special when all the athletes come to my hometown," said Italy's head coach Giorgio Cagnotto, for whom the competitions are a suitable test of form with a view to the World Championships in Budepast: "Many of them Athletes travel directly from Bolzano to Hungary. The World Cup roster is set, now we just have to work on the details. The Grand Prix is the perfect opportunity to do this."

The local hopes rest on veteran Maicol Verzotto and the 19-year-old Vladimir Barbu, who have already performed well at the European Championships in Kiev.

A total of 16 national teams will take part in the Grand Prix in South Tyrol. "This shows that Bolzano is a city of divers even after Tania's career has ended. We have made a name for ourselves internationally," says Giorgio Cagnotto. Appropriately, Bolzano was recently chosen as the base of the Italian national water jumping team. After the retirement of legend Tania Cagnotto, a new era is to be heralded in the Bolzano Lido - starting with the upcoming Grand Prix.

Wednesday July 5th 18 clock: Men's synchronized jumping from the tower, women's synchronized jumping from the 3 m board

Thursday, 6. July 18 clock: Women's individual jumping from the tower, men's individual jumping from the 3 m board

Friday, 7. July 10 clock: Synchronized diving women from the tower, synchronized diving men 3 m board, synchronized jumping mixed from the tower 15 clock: Women's individual jumping from the 3 m board, men's individual jumping from the tower, mixed synchronized jumping from the 3 m board
