The 17-year-old local hero never gave up the lead and finished the competition in first place with 336,70 points. Cagnotto, on the other hand, had 331,85 points. Third place went to the Russian Nadezhda Bazhina (326,10).

"Unfortunately, I made a mistake on the last jump; the tension and excitement put a slight damper on my plans. But all in all, I'm very satisfied with my final performance. Now it's time to concentrate fully on the jumping on Sunday," said Cagnotto after the prize distribution.

Tania Cagnotto will continue her hunt for medals and records in Rostock on the final day tomorrow with synchronized jumping alongside Francesca Dallapè.
