Also taking part in Bolzano at the weekend are Tania Cagnotto and Francesca Dallapè, who will be competing in their second competition after the Italian Championships, where they won the silver medal.

For the duo, the main thing is to get back to the top of the world: “At the beginning, when the comeback was on the horizon, I was very unsure whether what I was doing was the right thing,” revealed Tania Cagnotto (in the picture below) her emotional state before the comeback. “I have a different life now, I am the mother of a daughter and so this career is different than before. I also have to say that I enjoy training more than before becoming a mother.”

“But what is important for me is that I can approach this new start without pressure and fear. I used to always feel this pressure and was afraid of failing, I don't want to have that feeling anymore. The question, of course, is whether I am even able to perform appropriately without pressure. The future will show me that. Starting training again was very difficult for me," explained the two-time Olympic medalist from Rio 2016. "I used to train 6 hours a day, now it's 2 hours. Francesca Dallapè comes to Bolzano especially to train with me because she thinks that I don't train without her. She became my general,” says the Bolzano woman with a final laugh.

Cagnotto's jumping partner Francesca Dallapè (in the picture below) is very happy to be able to be there in Bolzano. We have an important year coming up and it will be a steep road for us to get back to where we once were. “We certainly need to increase our training, because we haven't trained very much so far.”

Maicol Verzotto (pictured below), captain of the national team, is also happy that Bolzano is hosting a Grand Prix: “There will be many nations with many strong jumpers at the start. Bolzano is very important for me because it offers me a good test for the World Championships in Korea in July. The technical director of the event, Giorgio Cagnotto, underlined the importance of the event in Bolzano for the entire diving movement in Italy: “Bozen is the capital of diving in Italy”.

Italy's head coach Oscar Bertone has 8 women and 8 men competing in Bolzano: "In addition to the experienced athletes, we also want to give the young ones the chance to prove themselves at a high level."
