Antholz: Dahlmeier celebrates his first win of the season

It was Dahlmeier's first World Cup victory this season. Markéta Davidová from the Czech Republic came in second. Thursday's sprint winner was 13,1 seconds behind at the finish. Dahlmeier's teammate Vanessa Hinz came third (+16,4 seconds). Dorothea Wierer crossed the finish line on Sunday in fifth place (+32,2 seconds), Lisa Vittozzi finished eleventh (+51,7 seconds).

In this one, the woman from Niederrasner missed the last target and went into the penultimate round in seventh place (+17,6 seconds). Vittozzi shot clean in the third shooting and was then in 16th place (+42,4 seconds). Meanwhile, the German Lara Dahlmeier took the lead because Braisaz and Mäkäräinen didn't make any mistakes.

Wierer then stalked back down the trail and came to the final shooting in fourth place (+5,8 seconds). At the last shooting, the local hero shot very quickly again, but missed the penultimate target and went into the final round in fifth place (+20,9 seconds). At the top everything boiled down to a purely German duel between Dahlmeier and Vanessa Hinz.

Dahlmeier was able to pull away from her pursuers Hinz and Davidová in the final lap and celebrated her 20th World Cup victory. Wierer saved fifth place with a show of strength. She beat Mäkäräinen in the finish sprint. Vittozzi ended up finishing eleventh. Nicole Gontier finished 29th with ten penalties.

Thanks to fifth place, Wierer was able to extend his lead in the overall World Cup over Vittozzi to 34 points (previously 24).
