Men Martin Fourcade (France): The most prominent farewell is that of Martin Fourcade , one of the best of all time. Dominik Landertinger (Austria): Dominik Landertinger announced his resignation yesterday, Sunday . With 9 medals at major events, including 2009 World Cup gold in the mass start, the North Tyrolean is Austria's most successful biathlete. Nadine Horchler (Germany): The 33-year-old recently disappeared from the biathlon radar. That's why she has now declared her career over. Celia Aymonier (France): 5 years ago the Frenchwoman switched from cross-country skiing to biathlon. She struggled in the singles competitions, mainly due to her shooting weakness, but the highlight of her career was World Cup bronze in the relay (2017) and a total of 3 World Cup victories, also in the relay.

Chardine Sloof (Sweden): In 2012, the Swede – who competed for the Netherlands until 2015 – was crowned double world champion at the Junior World Championships. However, she did not achieve a breakthrough in the World Cup. A 10th place in the Oberhof sprint in the 2016/17 season was her best result. Now she announced the end of her career at the age of 27.

Myrtille Begue (France): The 23-year-old played in the IBU Cup this year, but did not achieve any notable results. That's why she decided to turn her back on competitive sports and start a new life.

Emily Dreissigacker (USA): The 31-year-old American never made it into the points. Standing shooting in particular caused her despair over and over again over the years.
