There were at least two bright spots for the men in Östersund last week. Initially, Lukas Hofer was able to show an upward trend with a 7th place in the sprint. On Sunday, Tommaso Giacomel put in his first big test of talent when he advanced from 26th place to 7th place in the pursuit. The 21-year-old from Trentino indicated that he will be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

It starts in Hochfilzen on Friday (11.25 a.m.) with a men's sprint. No spectators are allowed at the World Cup in North Tyrol this year either. The latter will start in place of Irene Lardschneider from Val Gardena, who has to take a few weeks off after a metatarsal fracture.
