Biathlon in Antholz: Let the games begin
The first day of competition in the Südtirol Arena on Thursday is all about the exciting women's sprint competition. It is a faster and shorter version of the individual competition. Here, running speed is more important than shooting, because instead of a one-minute penalty, if you miss a shot, you have to run a penalty loop of 150 meters in length. Since the overall route length is shorter - for the women there are three loops of 2,5 kilometers each - there are only two shooting events.
