Biathlon Queen Wierer: “We will win together”

An 11th place was enough for Dorothea Wierer to win the overall World Cup on Saturday in Kontiolahti, Finland (You can find the detailed race report here).

She dedicated the victory to the entire population of Italy. “My rifle said 'we will win together', and that was successful,” emphasized Wierer. The message is that we can only be strong together. She is also concerned about the coronavirus crisis. “Hopefully this will pass quickly in Italy and around the world,” said Wierer. Hope was gone “It wasn't an easy race,” explained Wierer. “I thought I lost the overall win on Friday. I thought it would take a miracle to stay at the top.
