Biathlon dream couple got engaged

The Swiss Aita Gasparin and the Ukrainian Sergey Semenov have been together for three and a half years. Wedding bells will soon ring for the biathlon couple. The youngest of the three Gasparin sisters and the 32-year-old are engaged. The 26-year-old recently announced this on social media. “Let the champagne corks pop! I said yes,” Gasparin wrote.

Because of the corona crisis, the couple was unable to see each other from March to the end of June. In July, when it was possible again, Gasparin traveled to Ukraine, where Semenov is said to have already proposed to her. Wedding probably not until 2022 However, the wedding is not scheduled to take place until 2022 after the Beijing Olympics. The second best Swiss woman last season (31st place in the overall World Cup) announced that she would then change her last name and no longer run under the name Gasparin in the World Cup.

By the way, everything isn't just going according to plan for Gasparin in his personal life. Together with her sisters Selina and Elisa and Lena Häcki, she achieved something historic. In December they were the first Swiss women's relay team to make it onto the podium. Aita Gasparin was also able to shine at the World Championships in Antholz with two top places (sprint and pursuit).

The 32-year-old Semenov won World Championship bronze twice in his career (2011 in the relay and 2016 in the sprint). In total, the Ukrainian was on a World Cup podium four times, once in Antholz (2017). He also won the small crystal ball (in the individual) in the 2014/15 season.
