Bielkina and Slepov take the second IBU sprint in Martell

Bielkina had a flawless performance and had no penalties in both the prone and standing stages. In the end, the Eastern European won ahead of the Russian Svetlana Sleptsova and the French Marine Bolliet, who had triumphed in Thursday's sprint. In addition to Bielkina, fourth-placed Nadine Horchler was also able to celebrate after the sprint. This result was enough for the German to be crowned the winner of the IBU overall ranking. In addition to the overall victory, Horchler also won the sprint classification. The only “Azzurra” at the start was Carmen Runggaldier. The 21-year-old from Val Gardena completed her second race in the second highest biathlon racing series in 2st place with two errors and a gap of 43.3:31 minutes.

Russian double victory among men The Russians dominated the men's sprint on Saturday: Alexey Slepov, who came second on Thursday, won ahead of his teammate Petr Pashchenko, who secured victory in the sprint classification with second place. The Russian duo, who each had to go into the penalty loop once, laid the foundation for their success with a strong performance on the cross-country ski trail: The German Florian Graf, who came in third, managed to hit all ten shots, but still had to line up behind the two Russians in the end. The Italian team's biathletes placed outside the top ten, but collected a few points. Riccardo Romani came twelfth, Rudy Zini came in 18th and Maikol Demetz from Val Gardena finished the race in 24th place. However, there were no points for Giuseppe Montello (50th) and Saverio Zini (65th). In the overall IBU Cup ranking, the Russian Matvey Eliseev was already confirmed as the winner before the sprint.

Bielkina and Slepov take the second IBU sprint in Martell

On Saturday in Martell the final of the IBU Cup 2015/2016 continued with a second sprint. Nadiia Bielkina (Ukraine) won the women's event and Alexey Slepov (Russia) won the men's event. South Tyrol's starters Carmen Runggaldier and Maikol Demetz finished 31st and 24th respectively.
