She missed the target by two attempts and subsequently lost a lot of time in the penalty loop. Although she returned to the trail in 2rd place, the extra meters became very noticeable. Wierer bit his teeth, but he couldn't do better than 3th place (6 seconds behind). However, the 30-year-old racer still has a small consolation: she has underpinned her significant improvement in form and, a few days before the home races in Antholz, proved that she can now be counted on in every decision. She only came to the last shooting in 11th place, but then catapulted herself into the top position and didn't give it up until the finish. Simon kept the in-form Franziska Preuß in check, who ended up taking second place. Olympic champion Hanna Öberg from Sweden completed the podium. Lisa Vittozzi, the 2nd Azzurra in the field, finished 4th after a total of 17 penalties. The biathlon entourage is now moving to Antholz, where the next World Cup decision is scheduled for Thursday with the women's individual race.
