Bø disappointed on the tartan track: “Johaug beats him”

Preparation for the new season is in full swing. In order to draw the first comparisons, regular tests are carried out, which now reveal that Bø is not yet in the same condition as last winter - and would have no chance on the tartan track against cross-country skiing luminary Therese Johaug. Bø struggles with form On Monday, the entire Norwegian men's team completed a test run over the 3.000 meters, which Bø finished in fourth place and after 9:14 minutes. On average he covered a kilometer in 3:04 minutes. This time is only marginally faster than the one Johaug set at the Impossible Games over 10.000 meters (3:10 minutes).

“The difference is only six seconds,” said Jann Post, athletics commentator for Norwegian Radio: “So there is no doubt that he would have been beaten by Johaug.” He didn't think Bø was a great runner, but he could have nor did he expect it from him. “He seems to be far from the best form.” However, it must be mentioned that Johaug and Bø ran the race on two different days, on different tracks and in different external conditions.

The 27-year-old young dad wasn't happy with his time either: "I haven't trained well lately and haven't been able to work well." He is also aware that a test of strength with Johaug would turn out in their favor: "The train would have passed me after four kilometers.” She is really good and sacrifices everything to make the most of her talent, says Bø. Erlend Bjøntegaard won the test in 8:54 minutes.
