Bø before his guest appearance in South Tyrol: “I will run all the races”

Norway's biathlon dominator Bø wants to win at least two gold medals at the World Championships in Oberhof. “With my form and my victories, of course you have demands,” said the overall World Cup leader after his mass start victory on Sunday in Ruhpolding, Germany: “I would like to win an individual gold, and of course with the men’s relay.”

Bø celebrated his ninth win of the season in the twelfth race in the Chiemgau Arena two days after the relay success and is the undisputed leader in the overall standings. Despite the strenuous weeks, the 29-year-old traveled to Antholz for the World Cup dress rehearsal fully motivated. “I will do all three races,” said the five-time Olympic champion. The sprint continues for the men in South Tyrol on Friday. If Bø wins again, it would be his fifth success in a row for the second time this winter.

Bø is chasing Røiseland's Antholz record When asked in which competition he sees the best chance of winning gold at the World Championships in Oberhof, the twelve-time world champion said: "In the sprint, the pursuit, the mass start - and perhaps in the individual." These are all the individual biathlon competitions in the title fights at all. If Bø starts at all possible races, he could win precious metal at a World Championship seven times for the first time in his career. So far only his compatriot Marte Olsbu Røiseland has managed this in Antholz in 2020.

Breaking records isn't particularly important to him, "but that's cool," said Bø, who was only not on the podium in one race of the season, namely the first (12th), and who has been unbeaten with Norway's relay team for more than a year is. “We currently have the most dominant team in the history of Norway,” said Bø and remained modest: “Overall, you have to see all successes as a team effort.”
