Dahlmeier is back – “Doro” is running out of steam

Laura Dahlmeier is back: Last season's biathlon queen climbed onto the podium in Le Grand-Bornand for the second time this season. She missed the first World Cup event in Östersund due to illness, and most recently in Hochfilzen she only performed poorly. But now it has worked again: In the French winter resort, the German only had to admit defeat to the Slovakian high-flyer Anastasiya Kuzmina, who had already celebrated her second win of the season. Ukraine's Vita Semerenko came third, while Italy's Lisa Vittozzi missed her second World Cup podium in fourth place by just nine seconds.

Problems on the trail Vittozzi was the best “Azzurra”, while Dorothea Wierer has room for improvement. The woman from Niederrasner, who missed once, revealed weaknesses, especially on the cross-country ski trail, and only achieved the 31st running time. In the end, Wierer finished 15th overall. Federica Sanfilippo, on the other hand, was able to celebrate a small sense of achievement: The 27-year-old from Ridnaun made one miss, but especially on the last cross-country lap she gave it a lot of steam (10th best time) and achieved her best result of the season so far with 25th place. Alexia Runggaldier, however, decided not to compete in France.
