Dahlmeier’s picture book comeback – Wierer in the top 10

Due to illness, Laura Dahlmeier skipped the first two World Cup stages in Pokljuka and Hochfilzen. After getting a taste of competition again last week at the IBU Cup in Ridnaun, the German returned to the World Cup circuit on Friday - and immediately made an exclamation mark. In difficult conditions (snow and rain alternated) she only missed once while standing and sank all the other targets. In the end it came second place.

Dahlmeier was only beaten by the Norwegian surprise winner Marte Olsbu Roeiselan, who had a flawless shooting performance and a strong running performance to win. The Slovakian Paulina Fialkova came third.

Wierer extends lead in overall standings Dorothea Wierer didn't make it onto the podium this time. The woman from Niederrasner missed twice at the shooting range in heavy snow, but showed a strong performance on the cross-country ski trail and ended up in 9th place. Her closest competitor Kaisa Mäkäräinen, on the other hand, experienced a competition to forget and ended up in 58th place with five mistakes . That's why Wierer was able to extend her lead at the top of the overall standings: she is now 17 points ahead of Paulina Fialkova and 39 points ahead of Mäkäräinen.

Federica Sanfilippo from Ridnaun finished the competition in 32nd place, Alexia Runggaldier was 70th.

On Saturday the men's (15 p.m.) and women's (17 p.m.) pursuit races are on the program before the mass stars on Saturday (11.45 a.m. men, 14.30 p.m. women).
