Thanks to Passler and Zingerle: It’s raining medals

Rebecca Passler and Linda Zingerle move in lockstep. The sprint silver medals in the respective age groups were followed by two bronze medals on Wednesday morning - this time in the pursuit. The 18-year-old Zingerle started the race: she was around 5 seconds behind Lena Repinc, who won the sprint. Even two days later, all the attention was on the Slovenian, as she won confidently despite two mistakes. She took gold 15 seconds ahead of the Italian Martina Trabucchi, who, in 10th place in the sprint, made only one mistake and thus overtook Zingerle. The latter didn't perform flawlessly at the shooting range, but demonstrated all her running skills and won the bronze medal, despite missing five shots. She was 26 seconds behind Repinc. But that's not all: just an hour later, Rebecca Passler went one better. In contrast to Zingerle, she only made three mistakes, but was unable to keep up with the very best on the cross-country ski trail. Nevertheless, she was never in danger of losing the medal. On the final lap she even fought for silver with Synne Owren (also three mistakes), but the Norwegian ultimately had the greater strength reserves.
