Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen is currently in third place in the overall ranking. He has already made it onto the podium three times this winter and is in the form of his life. And yet the 30-year-old is not only causing a stir in sport. The reason for this are photos in which Christiansen lets his guard down.

The biathlete has been a passionate sauna-goer since his childhood. So it's no surprise that he's now advertising for a company that specializes in portable infrared saunas. These can be easily taken anywhere, can be set up in no time at all and ensure a real sauna feeling anywhere at any time.

Raised by teammates For this new partnership, Christiansen let his guard down – just as one should in a headlock. However, these photos made waves on social media. “I received a lot of criticism for sharing various scantily clad photos from the sauna,” the 30-year-old told the Swedish tabloid Expressen .

This was also an issue in the Norwegian team, so Christiansen was nicknamed “Mr. Sauna". “I was really bullied by the others on the team and they were right,” he says, also with a touch of humor. “But is it something I stand for. It's a very good rest for me, both mentally and physically. Sitting in a 100 degree sauna after training is really nice.”

Self-respect swallowed Christiansen also emphasizes that it wasn't easy for him to post the photos. “Sharing naked photos of yourself isn't particularly funny. It's probably the worst thing I've ever done. So I basically swallow all self-respect, block all emotion, and then quickly hit send. Then you immediately forget it and pretend it didn’t happen,” explains the biathlon star, who wants to make sporting headlines again in Antholz.
