At the 2021 World Championships on the Pokljuka (Slovenia), of all places, Irene Lardschneider's knot seemed to fall apart. In the following season, the Val Gardena native was to achieve her final breakthrough. But that didn't happen: the 24-year-old's body slowed her down so much that she had to end her career.
