The Biathlon World Cup moves to Oslo: “Azzurri” complete again

The World Biathlete Championships will take place in Kontiolahti, Finland, in just under three weeks. In order to prepare perfectly for the title fights, the Italian A team of biathletes skipped the World Cup in Nove Mesto last weekend and set up their training tents in Sjusjoen, Norway.

At Holmenkollen, where the starting signal for the eighth World Cup stage will be given on Thursday, the four South Tyroleans Lukas Hofer, Dominik Windisch, Dorothea Wierer and Karin Oberhofer, as well as Nicole Gontier and Thomas Bormolini will return to the racing circuit. Also taking part in Norway are Federica Sanfilippo from Ridnaun and Cristian De Lorenzi, who competed in Nove Mesto last week.

The World Cup in Oslo opens on Thursday with the individual races. The sprint competitions will follow on Saturday, before the eighth World Cup stage will end on Sunday with the men's and women's relay competitions.

Three South Tyroleans are going to the Junior World Championships

Lisa Vittozzi, who will be competing at the Junior World Championships in Raubichi near Minsk (Belarus) from February 18th to 24th, is not in the squad for the World Cup stage in Norway. In addition to Vittozzi, the selection that will travel to the title fights in the junior categories also includes Rachele Fanesi, Michela Carrara, Ginevra Rocchia, Luca Ghiglione, Michel Durand, Xavier Guidetti, Nicola Romanin, Saverio Zini and the three South Tyroleans Jan Kuppelwieser, Carmen Runggaldier and Paul Traut .
