The king is back – Hofer with the best result of the season

Martin Fourcade finally wins again. The seven-time overall World Cup winner won the 12,5 km pursuit on Saturday afternoon. After a small phase of weakness last week in Pokljuka, Fourcade greets us again from the top podium. The Frenchman didn't make a single mistake at the shooting range. Arnd Peiffer from Germany came second (+13,7 seconds), and Norway's Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen came third (+16,1 seconds).

Sprint winner Johannes Thingnes Boe botched the second shooting (3 errors), left six targets in the end and came “only” ninth.

Hofer and Windisch with clear improvements Hofer ran from 12th place to fifth place in the pursuit. The Montaler remained faultless twice while lying down. In the last standing stage, Hofer made his second mistake and went into the final round in sixth place. In this he was able to fight his way to fifth place. That means: best result of the season for the 28-year-old.

Dominik Windisch from Rasen, 34th after the sprint, also showed a strong “pursuit” and ended up 18th.

Picked up in the morning Dorothea Wierer her next podium place in the women's category. Lisa Vittozzi and Federica Sanfilippo also made it into the top ten in the 10 km pursuit.

On Sunday, the Hochfilzen weekend will be rounded off with the relay competitions for women (11.15:14 a.m.) and men (XNUMX p.m.).
