The next World Cup gala: Wierer wins gold again!

Three races, two victories: Dorothea Wierer's form is right for the new season. The racer was at the summer world championships in Ruhpolding after her Triumph in the super sprint Not to be beaten even in the final mass start. The World Championships in the Bavarian biathlon stronghold became an azure festival: Because the third Lisa Vittozzi had the race on Saturday as is well known, decided for themselves. Vittozzi was also at the front at the start on Sunday, but made one mistake at the second, third and fourth shooting range stops. Wierer was completely different: After a mistake, the woman from Niederrasner was a little behind right at the start, but continued to fight her way forward as the race progressed. Nevertheless, she was behind the individual Olympic champion Denise Herrmann until the last shooting. While the German showed nerves and had to go into the extra loop once, the South Tyrolean made no mistakes and won her second gold in the Chiemgau Arena. Silver went to Herrmann and bronze to the Czech Republic Marketa Davidova. Lisa Vittozzi ended up in 5th place in the final standings, which confirmed to the Azzurra that their form is continuing to improve. The Summer World Championships will conclude in the afternoon with the men's mass start, which, however, will not include Azzurro.
