In the 5th individual race the winner came from Norway for the 4th time. After Sturla Holm Lægreid, Johannes Thingnes and Tarjei Bø won in Kontiolahti, Johannes Dale won the sprint in Hochfilzen. The 23-year-old performed flawlessly at the shooting range and was in a class of his own on the cross-country ski trail on Friday. Behind Dale, two Frenchmen, Quentin Fillon Maillet and Fabien Claude, ended up in second and third place. The overall World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Bø, who started with a high start number (108), had to settle for fourth place. A total of 4 Norwegians and 5 Frenchmen ended up in the top 3. Debacle for the Azzurri The Azzurri, on the other hand, experienced a pitch-black day. Thomas Bormolini finished best in 37th place. Lukas Hofer, who has always been in the top 20 this season, did not get past 5th place on Friday with 50 shooting errors.
