Place 2! Wierer remains almost flawless in Nove Mesto

The speedster is currently on cloud 7! After her opening victory in Hochfilzen, Wierer went one better on Saturday afternoon in Nove Mesto. In the pursuit, Wierer started the trail 38 seconds behind, reduced her deficit until the first shooting and remained faultless.

Wierer also hit all targets in the second prone stage, as well as in the first standing stage. In adverse wind conditions, Wierer was the first biathlete to reach the final shooting stage, but then missed the first target. After the penalty loop, South Tyrol's athlete of the year had a tough duel with the Norwegian Marte Olsbu Roeiseland and had to narrowly admit defeat in the finish sprint. In the end, Wierer was 0,20 seconds short.

Hanna Öberg (Sweden) came third, Lisa Vittozzi (Sappada/Plodn) came fourth, ahead of Laura Dahlmaier (GER). Federica Sanfilippo (Ridnaun) made four errors at the shooting range and took 30th place.

In the overall World Cup, Wierer is now 47 points ahead of Paulina Fialkova (SVK), with Lisa Vittozzi now third (268 points).

The 14.30km mass start is on the program on Sunday from 12,5 p.m.
