An Olympic champion at the IBU Cup in Ridnaun

At the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, the 25-year-old German won two gold medals (sprint, pursuit) and one bronze medal (individual). But since the end of last winter, Laura Dahlmeier has been slowed down by several health setbacks and a weakened immune system.

Now Dahlmeier, who has been training in Ridanna in the past few days, is celebrating her comeback. Together with Roman Rees, the overall World Cup winner of the 2016/17 season will compete in the single mixed relay in the “second league”, which starts at 10 a.m.

A total of 25 nations will compete in the single mixed relay on Thursday. Host nation Italy is sending Samuela Comola and Daniele Cappellari into the race.

Six competitions until Sunday The second competition of the day begins at 12.30 p.m. This is the mixed relay, where two biathletes form a team together with two biathletes.

The Italian quartet consists of Irene Lardschneider (Wolkenstein), Michela Carrara, Saverio Zini and Pietro Dutto. A total of 23 nations are taking part in this interesting competition format.

At the weekend there will also be two sprints (on Saturday) and the pursuit competitions on Sunday in Ridnaun. It is not yet clear whether Laura Dahlmeier will also compete in the individual races. In addition to the sporting part, the organizers in Ridnaun also offer a comprehensive supporting program.

Spectators will be offered a morning pint on Saturday and Sunday, during which live groups will also perform. Entry to all competitions is free. Ridnaun hosted the European Biathlon Championships last January and is now hosting the second IBU Cup stage this winter.
