European Championships ceremonially opened in Ridnaun

The European Biathlon Championships in Ridnaun officially began on Monday evening. As part of a celebration in which more than 500 accredited athletes and officials from 36 different nations took part, the title fights in the Wipptal tourism stronghold were celebrated by OC boss Hans Widmann, regional sports councilor Martha Stocker, the vice president of the Italian winter sports association FISI Alberto Piccin and opened by IBU Vice President Victor Maygurov. Ridnaun is organizing the European Championships for the third time after 1996 and 2011.
