Golden Sprint: A Norwegian flies away from everyone

With a fantastic running performance, Johannes Bø won his third medal at the current Winter Olympics. The Norwegian made a mistake in the standing shooting, but he was able to make up for it on the cross-country ski trail. Silver went to individual Olympic champion Quentin Fillon Maillet, who also made a mistake at the shooting range (+25,5 seconds).

The older of the Bø brothers, Tarjei, achieved a real feat of strength. The 33-year-old pushed past Maxim Tsvetkov, who made no mistakes, in the final sprint and won bronze. After three medals in the relay, it was his first Olympic medal in the individual competition. Lukas Hofer fights back On a day where mileage was the deciding factor, Lukas Hofer, a South Tyrolean, was also able to put himself in the spotlight. He made no mistakes in the first shooting and was now in 11th place. The jump into the top 10 was definitely within reach. However, he fell behind due to a mistake in the prone stage. Dominik Windisch, who was able to demonstrate in detail , crossed the finish line in 30th place. The speedster missed two targets in the final shooting. Thomas Bormolini (23rd) was able to improve significantly after finishing 63rd in the individual and only received one penalty. Meanwhile, Tommaso Giacomel had to iron out four mistakes and narrowly missed the chase in 61st place.

This takes place on Sunday at 11.45 a.m. Then Olympic champion Johannes Bø will jump into the trail as the leader. The fight for the medals is likely to be particularly exciting given the distances. It remains to be seen whether Bø will make a difference when it comes to gold.
