The biathletes in Oslo also had to struggle with the heavy fog on Sunday. That's why there were a lot of mistakes made at the shooting range. Dorothea Wierer did a more than decent job there. With a total of only two penalties, Wierer ended the season in 8th place. If the last shot had been correct, she would have even been fighting for third place. But such calculations are nonsensical in this sport anyway.

Wierer at least defended her second place in the overall World Cup against Lisa Vittozzi. Vittozzi finished in 13th place. Overall, the Azzurre were not in the same running form at Holmenkollen that they had last time in Östersund. This could possibly also be due to the material.

Farewell day The headlines belonged to others on Sunday in Oslo. On the one hand, the winner Hanna Öberg. As a result, the Swede won the first and last races of the season. Öberg also won gold twice at the World Championships in Oberhof – a great season. Behind them were two athletes who announced their retirement this week: Marte Olsbu Røiseland and Anaïs Chevalier-Bouchet. You said goodbye to the biathlon stage in the best possible way with a podium finish.

Tears rolled down at the finish line - including Denise Herrmann-Wick. The German finished sixth in her last race. At the finish she was warmed by her teammate Vanessa Voigt and her colleagues.
