Hofer takes home the next top result

Pedestal like in Oberhof This time it didn't happen. Nevertheless, Lukas Hofer showed once again in Ruhpolding that he is now playing diligently in the concert of the greats. The Montaler took sixth place in the sprint. A mistake at the first shooting range possibly prevented another podium finish - also because Hofer was once again on track on the cross-country ski trail and had the third best time.

Unsurprisingly, the victory went to series winner Johannes Thingnes Boe, who triumphed for the seventh time this year. Curious: Tarjei Boe, Johannes Thingnes' brother, came in second place. He ended up 7,9 seconds behind, while Germany's Benedikt Doll finished in third place, 10 seconds behind. The Frenchman Martin Fourcade narrowly missed the podium in fourth place (+15 seconds).

However, the competition didn't go as planned for Dominik Windisch: The racer continues to lag behind his form this season and ended up in a disappointing 68th place. Overall, Windisch missed four out of ten times. Patrick Braunhofer was 87th in his World Cup debut.
