World Cup fever is already rampant in Antholz

The World Cup season opens on Sunday with the mixed relays in Östersund. The preparation of the cross-country ski trails is scheduled to begin in the South Tyrol Arena in Antholz on the same day, exactly 53 days before Dorothea Wierer & Co. strap on their cross-country skis and load their rifles again on their home terrain. The time has come on January 19th, when the fight for World Cup points will take place again in the Puster side valley. The racing program opens with the women's 15 km individual competition, and the next day the men compete in the 20 km race. On Saturday, January 21st, the women will compete in the mass start and the men in the relay, while on Sunday the men will compete in the mass start and the women in the team race.

Preparations are in full swing

Almost two months before the World Cup competitions, the preparatory work in the South Tyrol Arena is progressing non-stop: the first artificial snow is already piling up into small mountains, the VIP and festival tents are under construction, while new ticket requests are being processed every day in the biathlon center. “Advance sales are in full swing. “It will be really colorful and loud along the route this time too,” says the organizing committee office.

The first contingent of standing room tickets in the stadium for the weekend days has already been sold. A second pack of tickets will go on sale from December 2nd, after which only trackside tickets will be available. The unbroken demand shows that World Cup fever has long been spreading in the Antholz Valley and beyond.

World Cup fever is already rampant in Antholz

When the starting signal for the 2016/17 World Cup season is given on Sunday in Östersund, Sweden, the big countdown begins in the biathlon center in the Antholz Valley. In just under two months, the world's best ski hunters will be guests in the South Tyrolean biathlon stronghold.
