Junior World Championships: Annika Weissenegger surprisingly in the top ten

The 19-year-old from the Antholz Valley achieved her first top result at the World Championships, of all places. She crossed the finish line 3:54 behind and ultimately finished ninth. The decisive factor for the good result was an almost flawless performance at the shooting range. She only missed once in the second shooting.

The victory went to the outstanding Laura Dahlmeister from Germany, who already won her third medal in the current title fights. She won with a lead of 43,9 seconds over Lisa Theresa Hauser from Austria. Third place was also a German, Franziska Preuss.

In the men's category, however, Andreas Plaickner from Tesselberg came in 15th as the best “Azzurro”. The victory went to the Russian Alexandr Loginov in 40:42,2 minutes, who relegated the Croatian Dino Butkovic and the French Clement Dumont to places.

Junior World Championships: Annika Weissenegger surprisingly in the top ten

On Wednesday there was the first big success report for the local biathletes at the Junior World Championships in Obertilliach: Annika Weissenegger came in, completely surprisingly, in ninth place in the women's individual competition.
