No South Tyrolean day in Antholz – Norway wins

While the two South Tyroleans ended up in 9th place, over a minute behind, the victory went to the Norwegian duo Marte Olsbu Røiseland and Johannes Thingnes Bø. Crazy: For Røiseland it was the 5th medal in her 5th appearance in Antholz – a dream quota.

The Germans took silver with Erik Lesser and Franziska Preuß. The third team to arrive at the finish was the French duo of Anais Bescond and Émilien Jacquelin. First there was a protest from the Swedes (4th place) because of an alleged disability, but this was rejected. Bronze goes to France. The medal chances were gone and Hofer's 4 mistakes in his final appearance were no longer significant. Bø keeps a cool head Gold went to Johannes Thingnes Bø and Marte Olsbu Røiseland. The two Norwegians established themselves in the top field from the start and showed their claws when it mattered. Bø and the German Erik Lesser fought for the gold medal in the final shooting: While the Norwegian made no mistakes, Lesser missed once. So Bø was able to walk to gold in peace and quiet.

But Lesser, who has been in poor form recently, should also be happy about his silver medal with Franziska Preuß. Bronze went to France, which was still in 5th place at the last change, but started a strong comeback with pursuit world champion Émilien Jacquelin and was able to win the precious metal. No South Tyrolean day in Antholz – Norway wins

The World Championship medals in the single mixed relay were awarded in Antholz on Thursday. There was nothing to gain for the local athletes Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer, but the Norwegians came up trumps.
