With his 13th place, Bormolini certainly provided a ray of hope in the Azzurri team - also because team leader Lukas Hofer is currently taking a break to get in top shape for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Incidentally, Bormolini was only one of two athletes from the top 16 who remained clean at the shooting range. Second best Azzurro was World Cup returnee Dominik Windisch in 33rd place. Like Tommaso Giacomel (35th), he collected at least a few World Cup points and will be part of the pursuit on Sunday. Loginov wins ahead of Jacquelin Victory went to the Russian Alexander Loginov, who was able to displace Emilien Jacquelin from the top position. Thanks to his 2nd place, the Frenchman remains in the yellow jersey of the overall leader. For Loginov it was the 4th World Cup victory overall and the 2nd in Oberhof. The Norwegian Sturla Holm Lægreid completed the podium.

The World Cup in Oberhof continues on Friday afternoon (14.15:XNUMX p.m.) with the women's sprint. Dorothea Wierer is aiming for her first podium finish this season.
