Lukas Hofer 12th at the mass start in Ruhpolding

Martin Fourcade was in a class of his own over 15 kilometers. The Frenchman won the sprint with the Russian Dmitry Malyshko by the slimmest margin of 0,5 seconds. The Norwegian Emil Hegle Svendsen came third. While Fourcade made no mistakes at the shooting range, both Malyshko and Svendsen each had one miss.

Lukas Hofer crossed the finish line 39,5 seconds behind Fourcade. The Pusterer had bought two “tickets”. There were no other South Tyroleans at the start.

Tora Berger from Norway won the women's event. She relegated Darya Domracheva (Belarus) and Olga Zaitseva (Russia) to their places. No domestic biathlete was allowed to take part in the women's mass start race.

The Biathlon World Cup is now moving to Antholz, where a total of six competitions are on the program from Thursday to Sunday. The women's sprint will take place on Thursday, January 19th at 14.30:20 p.m. Friday, January 14.30th is dedicated to the men's sprint races (XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.).
