Lukas Hofer was the best of the “Azzurri”

Lukas Hofer 31st in the individual race in Östersund

At the start of the biathletes' World Cup in Östersund, Sweden, victory in the 20 km individual race went to the Frenchman Martin Fourcade. The 2011 Pursuit World Champion only made one shooting error and also achieved the fastest time on the cross-country ski trail. Fourcade prevailed with an incredible 1.54 minutes lead over the Czech Michal Slesingr. The German Simon Schempp came third, while Lukas Hofer crossed the finish line in 31st place as the best “Azzurro”. The 22-year-old from Montal missed two targets and was over four minutes behind Fourcade.
