Next podium: Wierer and Passler shine in the relay

The dream season continues: On Saturday, the Italian biathlon team achieved its tenth podium place this winter. This is the second in a women's relay. Just like in Hochfilzen at the end of last year, Dorothea Wierer & Co. stormed to third place. Samuela Comola, Lisa Vittozzi and the two South Tyroleans Rebecca Passler and Wierer were also there back then.

The Azzurre achieved third place on Saturday primarily through an outstanding performance on the shooting range. With a total of only four reloaders, Passler & Co. were the best at the shooting range - and sometimes the fastest. But Italy couldn't fight for victory; the Norwegians were too strong on the cross-country ski trail. The Scandinavians won by 15 seconds over Germany. Wierer led the Azzurre across the finish line in third place, 33 seconds behind.

Italy was at the forefront from the start. Starting runner Comola handed over to Vittozzi in fifth place. The individual winner led Italy to second place. At halftime of the competition, Passler got on board. The 21-year-old from Antholz did an excellent job - especially at the shooting range - and held on to second place. In the end, final runner Wierer had to let the German Denise Herrmann-Wick pass, but saved the podium place at the finish. In the end, the onrushing Swiss women only had to admit defeat by three seconds.

After the mass starts we head to Antholz The World Cup in Ruhpolding concludes on Sunday with the mass starts for men (12.30) and women (14.45). The biathlon team then moves to Antholz, where the next competitions are on the program from next Thursday to Sunday. In any case, Wierer and her colleagues are prepared for the home World Cup.
