New national biathlon team dedicated to youth

The association's budget must be cut, the logical consequence of this is the reduction in training groups. That's why Dorothea Wierer, Lisa Vittozzi, Lukas Hofer and Dominik Windisch will no longer train in an elite group next season, but with the A team. Lardschneider goes up, Sanfilippo goes down It remains to be seen how Wierer will react to this news, as she had tied the continuation of her career to the condition that the general conditions remained the same. After all, Andreas Zingerle has decided to continue his activity as head coach. His position was in jeopardy because he had already indicated several times that he wanted to withdraw from biathlon. The association's persuasion work for Zingerle has obviously been fruitful.

With Wierer, she should continue her career, and Vittozzi, 22-year-old Irene Lardschneider (Wolkenstein) and 23-year-old Michela Carrara will form the A team next season. Federica Sanfilippo (Ridnaun) was demoted from this and, like Nicole Gontier, now belongs to the “observation group”. In the men's category, Patrick Braunhofer (Ridnaun), Didier Bionaz, Tommaso Giacomel and Daniele Cappellari, all of whom are 23 years old or younger, complete the team around Hofer and Windisch. New national biathlon team dedicated to youth
