Sanfilippo & Co. surprise in Ruhpolding

For a long time there was even a small sensation in the air in the Chiemgau Arena from an Italian perspective: Lisa Vittozzi settled into the top group of the field with an almost flawless shooting performance (only one shot missed) and sent Federica Sanfilippo in sixth position into the race.

Sanfilippo and Runggaldier are extremely strong The woman from Ridnaun immediately fired up her turbo, impressed with an immensely fast running time and also presented herself in impeccable condition on the shooting range. With this outstanding performance, Sanfilippo worked his way up to second place, which may have particularly motivated Alexia Runggaldier. As the third starter, the woman from Val Gardena showed her best performance of the season and only lost a few seconds at the end of the six kilometers, which is why Nicole Gontier was allowed to start the race in third position. In contrast to her colleagues, the 25-year-old from the Aosta Valley had problems, especially on the shooting range, had to reload a total of five times and slipped to fifth place.

The race was won by the German relay team, which was still eleven seconds behind in fifth place after the third changeover. But then Laura Dahlmeier went onto the cross-country ski trail and ran away from everyone. The French relay team came in second (+3,5 seconds), while Norway took third place (+4,5).
