Daniel Taschler celebrates his World Cup debut on Thursday
Six South Tyroleans at the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz
From Thursday the Biathlon World Cup will stop in South Tyrol. Antholz is hosting World Cup races for the 33rd time and once again the local athletes are well represented. Six of the nine “Azzurri” called up are South Tyroleans: Lukas Hofer, Markus Windisch and Daniel Taschler start for the men, Michela Ponza, Katja Haller and Karin Oberhofer for the women. The Italians' squad also includes Cristian De Lorenzi, Renè Laurent Vuillermoz and Roberta Fiandino. Dorothea Wierer, however, will not be there as she will be in action at the Junior World Championships in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic next week.
