South Tyrol will also be a biathlon stronghold next winter

The absolute highlight is of course the World Cup Antholz , which is scheduled for January 21st to 24th, 2021. The calendar includes an individual race, a mass start and a relay race, each for men and women. But South Tyrol is also a popular venue, one level below the World Cup: in the IBU Cup, the second highest racing series, there are three stages on home soil on the program.

The ski hunters are in from December 14th to 20th Hammer in use and will hold six races there (including the new Super Sprint discipline). In Ridnaun two stages are even held at once. At the beginning of March 2021, the biathletes will be visiting the South Tyrolean biathlon venue, first as part of the eighth stage and immediately afterwards on the occasion of the IBU Cup final.

A total of ten competitions will take place in Ridnaun between March 6th and 13th, 2021. The biathletes will most likely arrive on March 1st and will therefore spend two full weeks in Ridnaun. After a few days of training, an individual competition for women and men will take place at the 2018 European Championship venue on Saturday, March 6th, with the winner of the sprint being announced 24 hours later. The following week there will be a single mixed or mixed relay (Wednesday, March 10th), before the die is cast again in the sprint on Friday, March 12th and in the mass start on Saturday, March 13th.
