For Dorothea Wierer, the sprint started exactly as she wanted; the leader in the overall World Cup completed the prone shooting quickly and without any mistakes after 2,5km. Lisa Vittozzi (ITA), second overall and leader in the Sprint World Cup, had to go into the penalty loop after a mistake.

In the standing stage, Wierer missed a target and made the final attack after the penalty loop, while Vittozzi was able to leave the shooting range without making a mistake and almost caught up with Wierer. In the end, Dorothea Wierer finished eighth, 49 seconds behind, while Vittozzi came 12th (+1:11,4 minutes).

Third win for Roeiseland The Norwegian Marte Olsbu Roeiseland celebrated her third win of the season, ahead of Kaisa Mäkärainen (FIN) and the German Franziska Hildebrand (+21,4 seconds). Alexia Runggaldier (ITA/Gröden) remained clear at the shooting range ten times and came 36th, Nicole Gontier (ITA) came 39th with three penalty loops, while Federica Sanfilippo (ITA/Ridnaun) settled for 69th place after five (!) penalty loops had to.

In the Sprint World Cup, Lisa Vittozzi continues to lead with 289 points, Roeiseland follows with 272 points, Wierer is third with 269 points. In the overall standings, Wierer was able to extend her lead over Vittozzi to 10 points, with Roiseland following in third place, 88 points behind.

The men's 10km sprint (19.15 p.m. CET) is on the program on Friday.
