Tora Berger is not at the top for once - Michela Ponza 18.

With an extremely strong performance on the cross-country ski trail, Darya Domracheva sprinted to victory on the day in Sochi. She finished the women's individual 15 km race with a time of 45:45,2 minutes. Even two mistakes at the shooting range couldn't take away her victory.

Behind the Belarusian, Olga Zeitseva from Russia (+34,6) and the series winner and overall World Cup leader Tora Berger (+46,8) placed second and third. These three athletes were almost in a league of their own on Thursday.

The South Tyroleans also had to acknowledge this, but nevertheless achieved two respectable results: Michela Ponza took 3th place with one shooting error, 58,5:18 minutes behind. Dorothea Wierer was 20th (+4:08,1). She also missed once at the shooting range. Alexia Runggaldier and Karin Oberhofer finished 37th and 39th, respectively.
